Please not that Serasa does not send emails to give notice or check
financial outstandings entered into its data bank.
On receiving e-mail with content along these lines, we
recommend deleting it immediately and without opening any attached file or
clicking on any links provided. It is a SCAM.
Users who do visit the linked website will get a standard
notice such as “no events found on you” and, without their knowledge or
consent, an application known as a Keylogger will be installed to
their hard drives. This Trojan enables scammers to get
information on Internet Banking accounts and passwords.
The first recommendation in such cases is not to use the
affected computed for banking before detecting and disabling the Keylogger.
Then get in touch with your anti-virus software provider to determine how to
proceed in order to eliminate the Trojan.
Serasa has reported these Scam attacks to the electronic
crimes authorities and has been taking legal and technical steps to prevent
recurrence.
